MMQG Trunk Show

This past weekend, our President, Adrienne and our Social Media Co-ordinator, Linda, drove  from Halifax to Moncton with 50 of our members modern quilts to present a trunk show as part of the
New Brunswick Gathering of the Guilds.  We didn't get any photos because we were just too darn busy talking and holding up quilts but be assured, it was fabulous!  There were 90 quilters in attendance to listen to Adrienne and Linda  describe each quilt and name its maker.  Lots of interest in our guild resulted.

A great big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen, especially Jennifer and Nancy. And a super special thank you to our Vanna White for the evening...Dianne.  Linda's shoulder thanks you too!
The N.B. Gathering of the Guilds is a wonderful get-together by representatives of each quilting guild in New Brunswick to discuss and share.  There were 18 quilt guilds represented.

MMQG 1st Ever Retreat Recap

MMQG Very 1st Retreat is now history!  26 excited, happy members enjoyed all or part of the weekend at the Holiday Inn in Truro, NS.  A very large conference room was turned into a quilter's paradise with lots of table space for everyone. There were large windows so lots of natural light.  There was an ironing station and a cutting station as well as design walls, and lots of room to hang up finishes.

19 members participated in filling up Swag Bags for each other.  What fabulous treats!  Just like Christmas.

Quilt tops were worked on and some completed

Lots of smaller items were being made too!

                   Some happy participants

Random fun sights around the room

What a fantastic weekend!  Thanks to all our sponsors, who were named in the preceding post. Thanks to the Holiday Inn in Truro for the awesome venue and wonderful service.  Thanks to our members for joining in and special thanks to our wonderful executive, especially Jennifer and Anja, who worked so very hard to make our first ever retreat a huge success.
