Spring Fever Sew In

Here in Nova Scotia we are cautiously optimistic about Springs arrival. The snow banks are starting to recede, we see the odd crocus and temps are above zero most days.

But we are not quite there, we are still a bit in hibernation mode, waiting for the next "weather event". So today when I arrived for Sew In I was not surprised to see another member near to waiting on the doorstep for the doors to open and another hot on her heels. We are desperate to be out of the house, craving company of the sewing machines and their humans.

Jennifer brought in some fabric and magazines for folks to take home!
Most of us settled in for the whole day and were reluctant to leave at the end - thanks for the help with clean up ladies! It really was a great day. As someone mentioned in the day, it's like going over to your friends to sew. A fabulous day! Here are some pics of the work going on...

Dena did some designing and piecing for a baby quilt

There was some serious skill building going on at Jennifer's table

Adrienne was piecing some tiny Preppy the Whale pieces

Val was working on Gravity and Ann was seriously into piecing some placemats

Lara was working on a new quilt top, she made a baby quilt pattern into something bigger!

We bling out our sewing machines around here!

Our Kona Club FQs arrived from Amy @ Candy Coated Quilts

Dominique worked on this fabulous scrap top and shared how these blocks are made with HSTs!

Adrienne's whales made an appearance

Shauna was working on this fabulous flimsy

Jeanette was making some amazing Greek cross blocks

Shauna also brought this adorable heart

And of course there were lots of quilting consults!

Hope you can drop in to our next Sew in on May 23rd.
