On the wild and woolly Wednesday night some serious modern quilters braved the wind and rain to attend the inaugural meeting of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild. How exciting it was to meet like minded women who have a passion for fabric and stitching it together into modern designs. And we all wanted to talk about it!

This first meeting was talking about why we wanted to meet and then how we were going to do it. The Maritime Modern Quilt Guild exists to provide a place where
non-traditional, fresh, modern quilters can meet, share, create and basically do quilty stuff!
Since the madness that is the month of December is upon us, we are going to start the new year with our next meeting which will be on January 9th.
You can find out more about the Guild by heading to the
About,
Membership and
Meetings Tabs. But the exciting part is this...we are going to meet twice a month. Once to do a little business, do some learning, and do some sharing, and twice to Sew! That's right, monthly Sew Ins! It is going to be so great to sit around our sewing machines together.
But for now, some fun stuff, our first Show and Tell. Enjoy and hope to see you in January! ( with hopefully either better lighting or a better camera...)

ReplyDeleteSuch a great experience to be in a room full of like minded quilters! I can hardly wait for our first Sew In!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilts!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I'm so glad I still got to see show and tell :) Can't wait to get you ladies more as the months go by!
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to open the website and see the Show and Tell. I just love the work I saw and it inspired me to head up into my sewing eyrie and get to work onmy own stuff. I can't wait to be able to come and meet everyone and see your work in person.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting the guild going! Such a hard thing to start, but then it takes over!
