June Meeting Recap

Last night, the June meeting of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild was held in Dartmouth, N. S.  It was so nice to see a few new members!
There are new and wonderful things going on for our new guild.

We discussed making our new guild banner.  Everyone will be involved in this project.  You will have to wait and see.  It will be unveiled in time for us to display it at The Nova Scotia Fibre Arts Festival.

Also,

We have been invited, to share a trunk show of our guild members quilts, by the Mariners Quilt Guild in Dartmouth. We are looking forward to this and it will probably happen after our show at the Fibre Arts Festival.  We have lots of time to get a few more projects finished up to show.

Guild member Aimee of Candy Coated Quilts, creator of many pixel quilts, gave us all a little tutorial on how she makes these wonderful quilts which use many hundreds of tiny squares.

Aimee showed us how she keeps everything intact while sewing....she doesn't clip the threads between adding rows! Genius!
                                                                        Our Pincushion Swap

Our pincushion swap was a big hit. Looks like one or two pincushions may have been missed during photo taking.  We plan on doing another swap of some sort in the future.

                                                                               Show and Tell

We are now looking forward to getting together for our next Sew-In Day. Hope you can make it!  Please get in touch if you need further information.
