We started off with introductions because there were new faces! Yes, we are now 3 members more.
Anja won the prize for wearing a name-tag. A lovely fat quarter pack. Have fun with it Anja. Maybe you could make a lovely zippered pouch!
BTW, next month's challenge is....Bring a handmade zippered pouch of any type and receive one to take home. If you decide to participate, place it in a bag of some sort to keep it a secret. Check out our Pinterest board for some inspiration. Feel free to pin along too.

6 1/2" Blocks made by our members, that will be part of our new banner, were collected and oohed and ahhed over.
Can't wait to unveil the end result. That will be in time for our quilt show in Amherst as part of the Nova Scotia Fibre Arts Festival in October. Check out the link for the schedule of events that happen over 5 days.
Next up, our program for the night...Jo Ferguson @Exploration in Stitch, gave us an in-depth demonstration on how to make fabric bowls. The possibilites are endless with this technique and Jo got us all started on the basic technique.
She sure made it look easy. Thanks Jo!
