MMQG July Sew-In Day Recap

13 is a lucky number for the MMQG.  That's how many happy, motivated, productive quilters showed up to spend the day together finishing up projects or just socializing.  What a fun day we had! For the first time our Sew-In was held on a Sunday to give those who find it difficult to attend on the usual Saturdays. Not many photos to share with you.  But you can believe me, it was a beehive of activity.  There was machine quilting, zippered pouch making, baby bib assembly line, baby diaper making, hand quilting, repurposing of once loved clothing, paper piecing, chain piecing, strip piecing, pillow top making, machine applique, skill sharing, design consults and much more.  All this was sprinkled with generous amounts of laughing and joking around.  Then it was lunch time!  And the afternoon continued with more of the same.  The lighting was not good yesterday, so my phone pics aren't the best.  Maybe you should come next time and get a way better look!
Shauna was cranking out these cute little VW Bus Hexies on her little Featherweight

Emily's very first quilt!

Cathy was appliquing circles around us with her fancy circle making attachment.  She was working on her original modern design.

Donna tries out piecing on her new Pfaff

Anja was chain piecing away and finished up a complete quilt top

Adrienne had a zippered pouch assembly line going on

Here's a short video showing how Jennifer quilts up a storm at Sew-In.  All the quilting done and ready to bind.

We went up to the terrace to take a photo of Linda's recent finish.  All free motion quilted.

Here's the back.

When in doubt, bring all your thread to Sew-In!

Hope you can join us next month. Love to see what you are working on.
