MMQG July Sew-In Day - RECAP

It was a hot, humid, rainy, sunny mid-summer day in Dartmouth, NS on Saturday, July 23.  7 hard-core MMQG members attended and sewed and gabbed and ate popsicles.  

Adrienne worked on a triangle quilt made using her stash of Denyse Schmidt fabrics.  She finished that and started a new strip pieced project 

Crystal worked on a pixel quilt using a preprinted fusible foundation.  It's the way to go if you want perfect seaming.

Shelly brought a fabric basket full of 2 1/2" low volume squares that she speedily chain pieced..hundreds of them!

Susan worked on making a ton of microwave bowl holders.  If you are on Susan's Christmas list.....just sayin'! lol

Sarah worked on a hexie pincushion that may or may not be up for grabs in our upcoming swap.  

Julie's serger was working overtime 

Linda worked on sewing up a quilt top for our MMQG charity challenge.  Two more rows to go! Our September Sew-In is dedicated to working on completing charity quilts.

A small group but a fun group!  A very relaxing sewing day.

MMQG June monthly meeting RECAP

This past Thursday, July 14, MMQG's monthly meeting was held.  22 members were in attendance on a lovely, warm evening.  Our meeting started with our annual DeStash Sale.  Several members brought items for sale and the shopping began.  There was fabric, scraps, books, rulers, something for everyone.  

After that excitement was over, a short business meeting happened and then it was on to more fun, a quilty game that involved the winner walking away with a nice stack of fat quarters.  Here's our lucky winners!

Then it was time for Show and Share.  Here's a look at some of the amazing creations of our members.

MMQG June Sew-In Day RECAP

 This past Saturday was MMQG's June Sew-In Day.... aka Fun-Day!  13 members brought all their gear and settled in for a wonderful day of sewing, sewing, sewing! There were baby quilts being quilted, there were bindings being made and attached, there were quilt blocks being sewn into quilt tops, there was baby clothes being made, there was paper-piecing and hexie making and quilt consults and lots more. On top of all that, there was friendship and support along with a lot of inspiration.  You should come next time!
