Getting Started!

Welcome to the on-line home of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild. Right now it is just me here, Adrienne, but I am hoping you will want to join me soon :) I live just outside of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and I have  had a dream- to start a chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild in the Maritimes. Montreal is just too far away!

The Maritime Modern Quilt Guild encompasses the Maritime Provinces; Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island and will be based physically out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Because we cover such a large geographic area we will likely have face-to-face  and on-line meeting options. Details to be worked out!

You can learn more about Modern Quilting by going to the About Page. It is my hope that the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild will provide a place where non-traditional, fresh, modern quilters can meet, share and create.

First things first - I need to find interested folks! If you are interested in being a key member (officers will include President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary), want to help with start up, or are just keen to be a member, leave a comment below or contact me at maritimemodernqg@outlook.com

I would like to have a first meeting with interested people by the end of November, 2013. I will find a location for the meeting, and for people who do not live in or near Halifax Regional Municipality, you can join via Teleconference.

So excited to start this journey with you!
Adrienne

  2. Good luck Adrienne and everyone else. I recently helped start MQG Victoria (pretty much as far from you as you can get in Canada) and it's lots of fun. A tonne of work, but lots of fun.

  3. I would love to help with start up. Unfortunately I will most likely only be living in Canada another year, otherwise I would offer to be an officer. I've never been to a guild meeting so I don't really know what's involved...

  4. This is awesome!!! There is no way I can go to the first mtg ... we have Wizard of Oz rehearsals that night (and actually Wednesday is pretty horrible for me transportation wise but hoping I can figure something out)
